According to reports from The Times, Liverpool have identified former Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez as one of their priority transfer targets.
The former Red Devils super-sub has flourished since moving to Bayer Leverkusen in a £7.3million deal last summer, going on to bag 19 goals in 23 appearances across all competitions – including five strikes in the Champions League.

That has seen the Mexico international linked with a shock return to the Premier League in recent weeks, with title chasers Arsenal believed to be particularly keen on a January transfer.
But according to The Times, Liverpool – who have also been mooted as potential suitors recently along with Tottenham Hotspur – have now made the 27-year-old one of their priority transfer targets, after allegedly attempting to bring him to Anfield in summer 2014.
With the Monday deadline looming, a move during the current transfer window seems incredibly unlikely. But the Reds are expected to carry their interest over into the summer, when Bayer should be more open to selling the pint-sized poacher.
