The Spain international has been in fine form this season, claiming eight goals, five assists and seven Man of the Match awards in 15 La Liga appearances, to bring his tally for Celta Vigo to an impressive 36 goals from 89 outings.

The 29-year-old has been linked with Arsenal and Barcelona for much of the season and recent reports have suggested the Gunners now stand alone in the race to sign the winger-forward after Barcelona’s loan bid was rejected by the Balaidos outfit.

But according to talkSPORT, Liverpool have emerged as late arrivals in the pursuit for Nolito’s services, launching a €18million bid that should meet his rumoured release clause.

It remains to be seen if Arsenal will match the Reds’ surprise offer, which is perhaps due to a lack of progress in their attempts to sign Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Alex Teixeira.
