Nolito

According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Arsenal hoping to beat Barcelona to Nolito in the January transfer window by trebling the Celta Vigo star’s wages.

The Spaniard has always been highly-rated throughout his spells with Barcelona B, Benfica and Granada but has really upped his game this season, bagging five goals and three assists in seven La Liga appearances.

That’s left the 28 year-old joint-top of the Spanish league’s assist rankings and joint-second in the scoring charts, whilst his 3.4 created chances per match is also a division highest.

Barcelona are reportedly keen to re-sign the Spain international, who was included in Vincente del Bosque’s latest squad, once their transfer embargo is lifted in the new year.

But according to The Daily Star, Premier League suitors Arsenal are so desperate to sign the winger-forward that they’re now prepared to treble his current salary.

Before personal terms can be discussed, however, the north London outfit will have to meet Celta Vigo’s £18million valuation.
