According to reports from TuttoMercatoWeb, the agent of Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United target Jorginho plans to hold discussions over a contract extension with Napoli next week.
The 23 year-old rose to acclaim at former club Hellas Verona, playing a pivotal role in their 2012/13 promotion from Serie B and bagging seven goals in 18 appearances the following season – until being prized away by Napoli in January 2014.
The £22million-rated midfielder’s recent form has attracted interest from Arsenal, Liverpool, Southampton and Manchester United, whilst leading some to demand a call-up to the Italian national team.
But reports from earlier this week revealed that Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis intends to tie the Brazilian-born playmaker down to a new long-term contract, with his current deal set to expire in 2018, in an effort to fend off potential advances from his Premier League suitors.
And according to TuttoMercatoWeb, Jorginho’s agent has now confirmed that discussions over a new contract are scheduled for next week.
The Italian outlet quote him as saying; “Next week I will talk with Guintoli. The idea would be to renew through 2020, we will talk and we will see how to move.”
