According to reports from The Express yesterday evening, Manchester United are planning a sensational triple raid of La Liga side Valencia.
The Mestalla outfit are currently seventh in the La Liga table but boast one of the best defensive records in the league, conceding only eight times in eleven fixtures, and two of their star defenders have attracted interest from the Red Devils.
World Cup winning centre-back Shkodran Mustafi – once a product of Everton’s academy – was linked with an Old Trafford move last month amid a blaze of scintillating form, averaging 1.6 tackles, 4.9 interceptions, 4.9 clearances and 2.9 successful aerial duels per match this term.
Likewise, left-back Jose Gaya, a target of several Premier League clubs and Real Madrid in the summer, has also reportedly caught Louis van Gaal’s eye, following Luke Shaw’s potentially season-ending double leg break back in September, but the 20 year-old’s release clause stands at a steep £36million.
The third and final piece of the jigsaw is long-term Chelsea target Andre Gomes, who was forced to deny reports that he’s agreed a move to Stamford Bridge during the summer. The Portugal international’s not enjoyed the best form this season but at 22 years of age is regarded as one of La Liga’s most exciting midfield prospects.
