According to reports from Gianluca Di Marzio via The Metro, Arsenal are targeting Napoli midfielder Jorginho and Genoa winger Diego Perotti in a potential Serie A double swoop.

Perotti came close to joining Premier League new boys Bournemouth and Watford during the summer, after bagging four goals and five assists during his first Serie A campaign at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, and appears to be attracting interest from the English top flight once again.

Jorginho, meanwhile, has been linked with Liverpool, Manchester United and Southampton since the start of the season and is regarded as one of Serie A’s most promising youngsters at the tender age of 23. The Red Devils are particularly keen after being recommended the Brazilian-born playmaker by the same scout who helped bring Italy international Matteo Darmian to Old Trafford during the summer.

Di Marzio claims that Arsenal scout Tony Banfield ran the rule over Jorginho and Perotti during a scoreless draw between their respective clubs on Sunday. Both stayed on the pitch for the full ninety minutes.

The Metro believe ‘several Spanish and German sides’ are also interested in the Serie A duo, who could cost Arsenal a combined £31million.
