Jese

According to reports from AS via talkSPORT, Napoli have stepped up their interest in Arsenal and Liverpool target Jese.

The 22 year-old Real Madrid forward, capable of playing on either flank or as a front-man, made his debut for Los Blancos in 2011 and has since produced a decent return of 14 goals in 62 appearances.

But he’s been struggled for game-time since an ACL injury in March 2014, this season receiving just four starts in La Liga despite producing two goals and one assist.

The situation prompted agent Giles Carvajal to publicly declare last month that, “the club will have to make a decision” on the former Spain U21’s future – leading to reported interest from Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea.

Aston Villa have also been mooted as potential suitors whilst talkSPORT throw Liverpool into the mix as well. But it appears Serie A side Napoli are now at the front of the queue for Jese’s signature.

They scouted the 5 foot 10 attacker during Real Madrid’s 1-0 win over PSG in a Champions League clash on Tuesday evening and were so impressed that he’s now manager Maurizio Sarri’s priority transfer target for the January window.

It is unconfirmed whether Napoli intend to sign Jese permanently or on loan. But the Gunners are believed to be considering a loan bid for the prodigious forward.
