According to reports from FourFourTwo, MLS prodigy Matt Miazga has received offers from Premier League trio Chelsea, Leicester City and Stoke City.

The New York Red Bulls centre-half may be just 20 years of age but he’s already regarded as the best defender in the American top flight and has drawn comparisons with Jaap Stam – the former Manchester United star who won three Premier League titles and the 1999 Champions League title during his short but successful stint at Old Trafford.

One scout has claimed; “He’s by far the best young prospect in MLS. He’s got all the potential to be one of the best defenders in the world for over a decade.”

The 6 foot 4 youngster has registered 39 appearances for the Red Bulls, including 29 during the 2015 season, helping them claim the MLS Supporters’ Shield twice since his debut in 2013.

Miazga – of Polish ancestry – is also a key player for Team USA at U20 level, boasting 17 caps and featuring heavily during their World Cup campaign in New Zealand this year.

During FourFourTwo’s interview with the New Jersey-born prodigy, they revealed he’s previously received offers from Premier League trio Chelsea, Leicester City and Stoke City.

When quizzed on the issue, Miazga replied; “I’m aware of all those rumors, but at the moment I don’t want to focus on that. The ultimate goal is to play on the highest level, but right now I’m happy in New York. I can still grow here and become a better player. When the time comes – I will be ready for Europe.”
