Lavezzi

According to reports from The Daily Star this afternoon, Liverpool have made contact with PSG star Ezequiel Lavezzi over a potential January move.

The Argentina international, who started for his country in last summer’s World Cup final against Germany, has bagged 33 goals in 139 appearances for the Parisians, helping fire them to three consecutive Ligue 1 titles.

But the winger-forward’s game-time has continually declined over the last few years, receiving just 19 starts in Ligue 1 last term and only two from a possible eight this season.

Arsenal, Inter Milan, Liverpool and Valencia were all reportedly interested in signing the 30 year-old during the summer but his Parc de Princes departure could well take place in January – when the South American’s contract enters it’s final six months.

Last week, Lavezzi was dubbed a ‘primary target‘ of the Anfield outfit and The Daily Star, citing Fichajes, now claim they’ve made contact over a potential January move.

The British tabloid allege the news will have undoubtedly put fellow admirers Arsenal – as well as surprise suitors Manchester United – ‘on alert’.
