According to reports from talkSPORT this afternoon, Galatasaray have dropped out of the race to sign PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The iconic Swede has amassed 113 goals in 139 appearances for the Parisians, firing them to three consecutive Ligue 1 titles, back-to-back Coupe de la Ligues and last season’s Coupe de France.

But the 6 foot 5 front-man’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season and PSG don’t intend to offer him extended terms, having already earmarked Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo as the 34-year-old’s star-studded successor at Parc de Princes.

talkSPORT claim that Arsenal and Manchester United are both in the frame to sign Ibrahimovic on a free transfer, whilst a move to the MLS is also a strong possibility.

But Turkish outfit Galatasaray, who reportedly attempted to sign the former Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona and AC Milan star during the summer, have now ruled themselves out of the race to sign Ibrahimovic.

Gala president Dursun Özbek rather humorously declared to journalists earlier this week; “For God’s sake who keeps coming up with these rumours? We have said countless times this is not going to happen.”
