According to reports from Sport this afternoon, Arsenal and Chelsea target Isco ‘wants to leave Real Madrid to join the Premier League’.
The 23 year-old has registered 118 appearances for Los Blancos since signing from Malaga in summer 2013, netting 17 times and helping them claim the 2014 Champions League title in the process.
But his status in the starting Xi is often dependent upon the fitness of Real Madrid’s more coveted names and rumours of a Bernabeu departure have escalated since the start of the season – with Arsenal and Chelsea reportedly in the frame to take him of the club’s hands.
Indeed, reports earlier this week claimed the Spain international is unhappy with life in Madrid and ‘wants a change of scenery‘, whilst Sport go one step further in alleging he’s now targeting a move to the Premier League.
It comes after Isco was dropped to the bench against Celta Vigo last Saturday, exacerbating the attacking midfielder’s fears that he could be spending much of the season as a substitute.
Meanwhile, Real reportedly have big plans for likeminded youngster Marco Asensio, currently excelling on loan at Espanyol, and therefore wouldn’t necessarily be against parting with Isco within the next two transfer windows.
