In what has been nothing short of a catastrophic start of the season for Premier League champions Chelsea, the Blues find themselves eleven points behind pace-setters Manchester City in the table ahead of this weekend’s round of fixtures.

Indeed, the Chelsea that lifted the title last year and the Chelsea of the current campaign are almost incomparable. They’ve lost eight times already this term – including a defeat to 10-man Stoke City in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday evening – and currently own the fourth-worst goals conceded record in the Premier League.

Rumour has it Roman Abramovich is beginning to run out of patience with manager Jose Mourinho. In fact, reports from earlier this week claimed the Chelsea owner could sack the Special One if the Blues suffer yet another defeat on Saturday at the hands of Liverpool.

Resultantly, there’s been plenty of speculation over the last few days regarding who could potentially replace the Portuguese at Stamford Bridge – should Chelsea come away with nothing against the Reds in tomorrow’s lunchtime kickoff.

SIX potential candidates have emerged and being the ever-helpful bunch we are at This Is Futbol, we’ve compressed the rumours into one gallery.
