According to reports from London Evening Standard yesterday morning, the grandmother of struggling striker Radamel Falcao has criticised Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho and Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal.

The 29 year-old, who moved to parent club Monaco for a whopping £55million in summer 2013, spent last season out on loan with the Red Devils and joined the Blues temporarily at the start of the campaign.

But the Colombian international has failed to live up to his billing when compared to the combined return of 142 goals in 178 appearances from his spells with FC Porto and Atletico Madrid; netting only four times across all competitions for United last term and just once since joining the Premier League champions in July.

But everybody needs a supporting grandmother in their corner during times of strife and Falcao’s is certainly sticking up for him at the minute – criticising how he’s been handled by United’s Louis van Gaal and Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho since returning from a long-term knee injury after the 2014 World Cup.

Dona Denis King Garcia said in an interview with El Universal; “The truth is that he has had few opportunities to play. At first he was used a lot, but after that he has been used very little; in those 10 or 15 minutes he’s being given he can’t do anything. And so it is very difficult for him. You have to give him more time to do what he does best.

“After the injury he suffered last year before the World Cup he has tried to return and has played some good matches; but I also think the coaches he has worked with have not been explicit with him. You have to show confidence in him because that is the only way he can return like before.”

Falcao has reportedly become so disillusioned with his lack of game-time at Chelsea, making just one league start so far this season, that he may request to return to Monaco during the January transfer window.
