According to reports from The Telegraph yesterday morning, Chelsea have seen a £46million bid for attacking midfielder Koke rejected by Atletico Madrid.
The Spain international has been an integral performer for a Mattress Makers outfit that’s claimed a Europa League title, a Copa del Rey and a La Liga title since 2011, amassing eleven goals and 32 assists in his last 101 league appearances.
He was strongly linked with Chelsea and Manchester United earlier this summer, as news of his £44million release clause hit the tabloids.

But Koke has since revealed his desire to become a one-club man at Vincente Calderon and reiterated it by signing a new contract at the end of June – which is believed to have raised his buy-out fee substantially.
That hasn’t deterred the Blues’ interest, however, according to The Telegraph. Citing Spanish publication Marca, they claim the Premier League champions recently launched a £46million bid; which was swiftly rejected by manager Diego Simeone, who has already lost one attacking mid this summer in Arda Turan.
The industrious 23 year-old certainly suits Chelsea’s style of play. But it seems unlikely they’ll come to an agreement with Atletico before September 1st.
Koke is amazing, I’d be delighted if we signed him, I think he will be one of the best players in the world of the next generation.
