There’s perhaps no greater joy in the life of a young male than a weekend kickabout with a rabble of unruly mates in the local park.
Jumpers for goal posts, the lad who nearly signed for Millwall when he was 13 playing up top, the chubby fella forced to play in goal (simply because he takes up so much of it) and the one kid in midfield who does 90% of all the running; I’m sure we’re all aware of international kickabout protocol by now.
Well, as shown in the video below, Carlsberg have taken the beauty of a weekend kickabout to a whole new level, creating what is probably the best kickabout in the world.
It features Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday ringmaster Jeff Stelling, dozens of fans watching from the sidelines, a magic sponge Professor Dumbledore would be proud of, more retro kits than a hipster’s dream and even an match-saving stop from Manchester United legend Peter Schmeichel.
