According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Kevin De Bruyne will demand to leave Wolfsburg this summer following a £47million bid from Manchester City.

The Belgium international struggled to impress during his two years at Chelsea, finding himself loaned out to Genk and Werder Bremen before being sold to Wolfsburg permanently for £18million in January 2014.

But he’s proved an absolute revelation since, finishing last season with 10 goals and 20 assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances – the most set-ups of any player in Europe’s five leading top flights – to claim the Footballer of the Year award in Germany.

The Metro believe Manchester United are keen to bring the 24 year-old back to the Premier League this summer but local rivals Manchester City have already launched two bids – the latest being worth £47million.

And according to Mirror Football, the Citizens’ second offer has convinced De Bruyne to demand an exit from the Volkswagen Arena in the coming days.

However, Die Wolfe intend to squeeze every penny out of the Emirates outfit if they’re forced to sell this summer. Previous reports claimed City are prepared to go as high as £60million to sign their priority target.
