According to reports from The Express this morning, Denis Cheryshev is set for crunch talks at Real Madrid amid rumours of a potential move to Arsenal or Liverpool.

The Russian international has spent the majority of his Bernabeu career with Real Madrid’s second string but impressed on loan at Villarreal last season to claim four goals and nine assists in 24 La Liga appearances.

He’s also shown good form during Real Madrid’s pre-season fixtures but Los Blancos aren’t expected to put up much of a fight if they receive a decent offer this summer, with the 5 foot 11 wide man not an integral figure in Rafa Benitez’ first team plans.

Arsenal and Liverpool have both been mooted as potential suitors of the 24 year-old, with reports last week even claiming the latter club had launched a bid just shy of £15million.

And according to The Express, who cite Spanish publication AS Diario, that speculation has forced Cheryshev into holding crunch talks with the Real Madrid hierarchy regarding his future at the Bernabeu.

A sale seems more than likely but Arsenal and Liverpool face competition from Villarreal, who want to sign Cheryshev permanently.
