Kevin de Bruyne

According to reports from Sky Sports this afternoon, in-demand midfielder Kevin De Bruyne has admitted he ‘would like to play for a bigger club’.

The Belgium international failed to make the first team grade during his two years at Chelsea, loaned out to Genk and Werder Bremen before eventually being sold to Wolfsburg for £18million in January 2014 after just six Blues appearances.

But he’s proved an absolute revelation since, finishing last season with 10 goals and 20 assists in 34 Bundesliga appearances – the most set-ups of any player in Europe’s five leading top flights – to claim the Footballer of the Year award in Germany.

The Metro believe Manchester United are keen to bring the 24 year-old back to the Premier League this summer whilst rivals Manchester City have already launched two bids – the latest being worth £47million.

And according to Sky Sports, De Bruyne would ‘consider leaving Wolfsburg for a bigger club’ – that’s the words of Sky Deutschland’s Laura Lutz.

It coincides with reports this morning, alleging the attacking midfielder is about to demand an exit from the Volkswagen Arena following City’s latest bid.
