According to reports from The Daily Mail yesterday evening, an improved Manchester United bid for Southampton star Morgan Schneiderlin is ‘imminent’.
The 25 year-old has emerged as one of the most formidable enforcers in the Premier League over the last three campaigns, finishing the 2014/15 season with the second-most tackles per-match (3.7) of any player in the division.
After nearly forcing his way out of St. Mary’s twelve months ago, Schneiderlin is certain to leave the south coast this summer with Arsenal, Tottenham and United all linked to his signature.
But the Red Devils have surged ahead in the race to sign the France international over the last few weeks. They’ve already seen a £20million bid rejected by the Saints, which manager Ronald Koeman described as ‘not serious‘, whilst some sources claim the centre-mid has agreed personal terms with the Old Trafford outfit.
An improved offer has been speculated for some time and according to The Daily Mail, it is now ‘imminent’. They claim Southampton would be prepared to part with the former Strasbourg youngster for around £27million, but whether United are prepared to meet that valuation remains to be seen.
This transfer has begun nagging me how can we buy shaw at 30m and fail to sign a complete midfielder like Schneiderlin at only 27m
pliz i would urge united board to speed up signing of this lad morgan schneirdlin
