According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Chelsea have have agreed a deal to sign Chile international Charles Aranguiz.
The 5 foot 7 midfielder featured prominently in the Chile side that lifted the 2015 Copa America last Saturday, registering two goals, one assist and six appearances throughout the tournament including a Man of the Match display in the final against Argentina.
The 26 year-old has spent his entire club career in South America, representing the likes of Colo-Colo, Universidad de Chile and most recently Brazilian outfit Internacional, for whom he boasts eleven goals in 55 league outings.
But the 36-cap international has been linked with a move to Europe for some time. As well as long-term interest from Marseille, he emerged on Arsenal’s radar in March, describing an Emirates switch as a ‘dream’ move.
According to The Star, however, both the French club and the north Londoners have been beaten to Aranguiz’ signature by the Premier League champions. Marseille recently enquired into the centre-mid’s availability, only to discover he’s already agreed a move to Stamford Bridge.
According to The Metro, he’s valued by Internacional at around £16million.
So a player we were never after might signing for another club hence arsenal beaten to signature. Another diminutive midfielder is after all our priority. Last journalism, I won’t click on your site any more.
Interesting you say Arsenal were never after him.

And it’s interesting you sarcastically suggest Arsenal wouldn’t target a diminutive midfielder. Despite the fact you haven’t actually signed a midfielder over 6 foot (apart from Bielik) since Aaron Ramsey in 2007 and Wenger has continued to spend money on them year after year; Nasri, Arteta, Cazorla, Ozil. AND despite being just 5 foot 7 Aranguiz is actually famed for being a pretty feisty and physical customer, so I’m not sure you can really describe him as the diminutive type.
But your wonderful insight will definitely be missed here at This Is Futbol Johnny.
LOL. Muppets like you really do put the GOON into Gooner. Go back to your Arsene Wenger fap session along with the rest of the renford rejects.
Tut Tut
Touchy Gooner at least your got our old spent goalkeeper
Come on you BLUES
Charles Aranguiz Is A Good One…..He’s Definitely Gonna Be A Success Under JM,Though I’d Love Paul Pogba To Come…..It’s Good To Know That Man City Has Backed Out Of The Race To Sign The FrenchMan…….Man Utd Is Definitely Not The Right Place For Him,Considering His History With The Red Devils/Sir Alex Ferguson…….JM Should Go For Him As He’ll Definitely Shine And Become A Better Player Under Him.
You are right brother
Paul pogba i think is the best for JM i also prefer him to be in that chelsea squard he’s a good type for that team.
