According to reports from The Express this afternoon, Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin has agreed personal terms with Manchester United ahead of a £24million move to Old Trafford.

The 25 year-old has emerged as one of the most formidable enforcers in the Premier League since the Saints’ top flight ascension in 2012, last term averaging the second-most successful tackles per match, 3.7, of any player in the division.

After nearly forcing his way out of St. Mary’s twelve months ago, the France international is almost certain to leave the south coast this summer, with Arsenal, Manchester United and Tottenham all linked to his signature.

The 6 foot 2 midfielder revealed on Thursday that he hopes to have negotiations over his future concluded before next week, when Ronald Koeman will commence pre-season training at Southampton.

That lead to reports on Friday claiming Schneiderlin was on the verge of signing for Manchester United, with Arsenal reportedly seeking cheaper alternatives and Spurs unable to offer Champions League football.

And according to The Express, who cite French publication L’Equipe, the former Strasbourg youngster is now one step closer to officially joining the Carrington ranks, having agreed personal terms with the Red Devils.

A transfer fee, however, is yet to be agreed – but Southampton’s valuation is believed to be around £24million.
