According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Tottenham Hotspur are leading the race to sign Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie.
The DR Congo international has just come to the end of a fantastic campaign for the South London outfit, bagging four goals and six assists in 33 Premier League appearances whilst averaging 1.4 creates chances and 2.6 successful dribbles per match.
His direct, powerful and tricky runs on the counter-attack have caused continuous problems for Premier League defences, attracting interest from some of the division’s bigger clubs.

According to The Daily Star, West Ham, Sunderland and Newcastle are also interested – but they claim Tottenham are currently the front-runners for Bolasie’s signature.

Correct, he may not be worth £40m to other teams, but in terms of what he offers to Palace then he is worth £40m to Palace, as they would struggle to replace him with anyone who can do the same for less than £40m, so therefore internally he is worth £40m to Palace, why sell him for £8m (a good true open market value) when nothing close to that would buy a replacement.
