Dani Alves - Free Transfer

According to reports from The Daily Star yesterday afternoon, Barcelona right-back Dani Alves has signed a pre-contract agreement with Manchester United.

The Brazil international has been a near ever-present member of a Barca side who’ve claimed five La Liga titles, three Copa del Reys and two Champions League titles since he joined them from Sevilla in summer 2008, with Alves’ dynamic runs from the right of defence becoming a defining feature of their build-up play.

He could make it a third European honour on Saturday as the Catalans face Juventus in the Champions League final, but reports from The Daily Star claim it will be his last game for the club.

The 32 year-old is out of contract this summer and he’s believed to have recently turned down extended terms at the Nou Camp – as This Is Futbol revealed last month.

Alves has also claimed he’ll decide his future after the CL showdown tomorrow evening, as reported by This Is Futbol, with Liverpool, PSG and Manchester United all baying for his signature.

But according to The Daily Star, he’s already agreed a summer move to Old Trafford. Right-back has been a problem area for Louis van Gaal’s side this season, with winger Antonio Valencia filling in for Rafael, who has struggled for fitness and form.

Consequentially, Liverpool are now expected to turn their attentions to Southampton’s Nathaniel Clyne, who they launched a failed £10million bid for last week – as reported by This Is Futbol.
