Pellegrini keen to reunite with £32m Arsenal and Man United target

Isco

According to reports from The Express this morning, Manchester City are preparing a £32million bid for Real Madrid’s prodigious attacking midfielder Isco.

The Spain international excelled under Citizens boss Manuel Pellegrini during their time together at Malaga, reaching the 2012/13 Champions League quarter-final, but turned down the opportunity to move to the Etihad with the Chilean in summer 2013 – instead opting to join Real Madrid.

The 23 year-old enjoyed good form this season, bagging four goals and nine assists in 34 La Liga appearances whilst averaging 2.6 successful dribbles and 1.6 created chances per match.

But his place in the starting Xi is largely dependent upon the fitness of Los Blancos’ more coveted names – such as Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Luka Modric – and his future remains uncertain with Rafa Benitez confirmed as the new Bernabeu boss this morning, as reported by BBC Sport.

As This Is Futbol revealed last month, Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United are all reportedly considering summer bids for the attacking midfielder. But The Express claim City’s new-found room for maneuver in the transfer market, having escaped further Financial Fair Play punishments for overspending, has them leading the pack.

They claim the Etihad outfit will kick off their summer spree with a £32million bid for Isco.

Real would be mad to let Isco leave, he’s absolutely phenomenal. Would be a massive asset to any club in the world, I think he will become one of the next generation’s great players.
