According to reports from The Daily Star this afternoon, Liverpool are preparing an £18million bid for Barcelona winger-forward Pedro.
The 27 year-old has done and won it all throughout his tenures with the Catalans and the Spanish national team, namely winning five La Liga titles, three Champions League titles, the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship.
But he’s struggled for game-time since the £75million arrival of Luis Suarez last summer, leading many to speculate he’d leave the Nou Camp in the current transfer window, with his contract due to expire at the end of net season.
Despite interest from Arsenal and Manchester United, the 51-cap international appeared to put speculation to bed by signing a contract extension until 2019 earlier this month – which included a £108million release clause.
But that hasn’t deterred Liverpool’s interest in Pedro, according to The Daily Star. They’re reportedly plotting an £18million bid for the Spaniard, but are under no illusion that his departure will now be on the club’s terms after signing such a monolithic deal.
Regardless, Barcelona might be interested in selling. According to reports this afternoon, they’ve already wrapped up a deal for Atletico Madrid winger Arda Turan, who could well be Pedro’s replacement.

Why would the club put in a 108M clause and then sell for 18M, something doesn’t add up.
Not happening he’s the best they have as back up and Turan would have to establish himself before Barca would even consider loosing Pedro.
