Dortmund issue hands-off warning to Arsenal and Liverpool

|

Aubameyang has been an impressive replacement for Lewandowski.

According to reports from ESPN yesterday morning, Borussia Dortmund have issued a hands-off warning to potential suitors of star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international was in good form last season despite the Black-Yellows’ unexpected failure to qualify for the Champions League, bagging 26 goals in 46 appearances across all competitions – including 16 strikes in the Bundesliga – to finish up as the club’s top scorer.

Aubameyang has been linked with Premier League clubs ever since his St. Etienne days and rumours of a move to England have surfaced yet again this week. The Liverpool Echo report on interest from Liverpool, whilst The Daily Mail claim Arsenal are considering a bid for the £28milion-rated forward.

According to ESPN, however, the Westphalian outfit are determined to hold onto the 26 year-old this summer. They quote sporting director Michael Zorc as telling Kicker that Dortmund are “not interested in selling Aubameyang.”

The Sky Sports Transfer Centre (see 9.04 am) goes one step further. They quote Zorc as telling the same publication; “Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a player of Borussia Dortmund and we do not have any plan to sell him. That’s a fact.”

“Still we will have players leaving our club this summer. There will be some action in the turn of next week,” he added.
