Petr Cech - £10million

According to reports from The Independent this morning, PSG have pulled out of the race to sign Chelsea’s Petr Cech.

The Czech international is undoubtedly one of the greatest goalkeepers in Premier League history, boasting four league titles, the 2012 Champions League title and 333 appearances as the Blues’ No.1, but he looks set to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after losing his starting berth to the prodigious Thibaut Courtois.

The Ligue 1 champions were believed to be monitoring the 33 year-old’s situation after a disappointing campaign from their current No.1 Salvatore Sirigu, but they’ve now ended their interest because they view an inward Premier League move as considerably more likely.

Arsenal appear to be the front-runners in the race for Cech’s signature, after the 6 foot 5 goalkeeper revealed earlier this week that he’d prefer to stay in London – as reported by The Express.

But he’s also been mooted a potential Manchester United target, with PFA Player of the Year nominee David De Gea almost certain to join up with Spanish giants Real Madrid this summer – as reported by Manchester Evening News.

Today’s reports will be a huge boost to both clubs. But as previously stated, a switch to the Emirates is becoming increasingly likely.
