Geoffrey Kondogbia

According to reports from Mirror Football this morning, Arsenal are preparing a £25million bid for in-demand Monaco midfielder Geoffrey Kondogbia.

The 22 year-old defensive-mid has been in fantastic form this season, averaging 3.1 tackles, 2.5 interceptions and 1.7 successful dribbles per match from his 23 Ligue 1 outings.

As This Is Futbol revealed earlier this week, no less than four Premier League clubs are believed to be pursuing the France international ahead of the summer transfer window – Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United.

But it appears the Gunners have taken the initiative in the race to sign Kondogbia, as they plan a £25million bid.

Arsenal have often been accused of lacking power, height and defensive awareness in their midfield, and the 6 foot 2 enforcer would be the perfect remedy. According to Mirror Football, Wenger has tracked Kondogbia since he first turned out for Lens in 2010.

Whether Chelsea, Liverpool or Manchester United feel compelled to respond remains to be seen. According to Mirror Football, the Red Devils are already on the verge of completing a deal for Southampton’s Morgan Schneiderlin.

we can’t afford to let him slip to the advantage of any of the premiership team.I have a feeling that Wenger will pounce quicker. I can’t wait to hear him signed for arsenal in a weeks time.
