According to reports from The Express this afternoon, in-demand Porto striker Jackson Martinez will confirm which club he’s joining next week.
The Colombian international has been nothing short of prolific during his three seasons with the Dragons, amassing 92 goals in 132 appearances across all competitions to claim three consecutive Primeira Liga Golden Boots and a personal best 32-goal haul for the 2014/15 campaign.
The 28 year-old confirmed his intentions to leave Estadio do Dragao earlier this month as reports emerged of a £25million release clause, with Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United all linked – as This Is Futbol revealed two weeks ago.
As This Is Futbol revealed this morning, Martinez recently refuted claims that he’s already agreed to join AC Milan whilst on international duty at the Copa America and some further quotes have since emerged; alleging a move to Atletico Madrid – despite them completing a deal for Luciano Vietto this afternoon – and the striker’s intentions to reveal his future club some time next week.
According to The Express, who cite Portuguese publication A Bola, Martinez told reporters; “Going to Madrid? It does not just depend on me. Next week everything will be clarified.”
