According to reports from The Daily Mail earlier this week, Liverpool and Manchester United are still waiting to hear a ‘definite answer’ from in-demand Burnley striker Danny Ings.
The 23 year-old is set to leave Turf Moor upon the expiration of his contract on July 1st, following their failure to stave off relegation back to the Championship.
Boasting a return of ten goals and four assists in 33 appearances from his debut Premier League campaign, two of the division’s top sides – Liverpool and Manchester United – are keen to take a punt on the home-grown product this summer, who will be available for just £5million through a compensation agreement.
Liverpool are considered to be the front-runners for the forward’s signature with the Red Devils and David Moyes’ Real Sociedad not far behind.
But The Mail claim Ings is yet to give any of his suitors a definite answer in regards to his next club – although he has promised to issue a verdict by the end of the month.
Great player considering his heroic consumption of crack – almost certain to end up as another average English player on Liverpool’s books. James Milner would do well to avoid the same fate.
