Five in, Five out: Liverpool’s Ten likeliest summer transfers

|

Steven Gerrard (2)

Following an unceremonious end to an unspectacular campaign, Liverpool are expected to keep themselves very, very busy on the transfer front in the coming summer window.

A number of their signings from the start of the season, coming to a combined cost of £117million, simply haven’t paid off, and Brendan Rodgers will need to make further acquisitions this summer if he’s to lead Liverpool back to Champions League qualification next term.

In order to make way for new recruits, however, there will be some inevitable departures. We already know veteran skipper Steven Gerrard will be heading for the MLS at the end of the season, and a number of the Anfield outfit’s flops could soon be joining him on the transfer scrapheap.

So with plenty of movement anticipated on both the outward and inward fronts, This Is Futbol have compiled the Ten likeliest Liverpool transfers into this easily digestible list – featuring five potential departees and their five rumoured replacements.

Would you like to see the Merseysiders make some of these trade-offs in the coming window?

I’m surprised they’ve held onto Brad Jones for this long, he’s useless. Plus I had no idea he was 33. Begovic would be a coup for them, he’d surely start over Mignolet as well.

    Marco Montoya – Barcelona’s John O’Shea?
