Carlos Tevez

According to reports from The Express yesterday evening, former Manchester United front-man Carlos Tevez could be set for a shock Premier League return with Liverpool this summer.

The Argentina international bagged 34 goals in all competitions during his two seasons at Old Trafford, helping the Red Devils claim back-to-back Premier League titles and the 2008 Champions League title before ultimately joining noisy neighbours Manchester City in summer 2009.

He went on to win another English title with Manchester City in 2012, but moved to Juventus a year later.

The 31 year-old boasts a potent haul of 50 goals in 93 appearances for the Old Lady, twice firing them to the Serie A title, and last night helped them record a 3-2 aggregate victory over Real Madrid in the Champions League semi-final.

But there’s been talk of the forward seeking pastures new this summer, with just a year remaining on his contract in Turin. Tevez recently denied reports linking him with a return to boyhood club Boca Juniors – as reported by Sky Sports in April – which has paved the way for The Express to allege a shock move to Liverpool.

Brendan Rodgers is widely expected to reshuffle his strike-force this summer, with Daniel Sturridge, Rickie Lambert, Fabio Borini and Mario Balotelli managing just eight Premier League goals between them. But how much he’d be prepared to spend on a striker the wrong side of 30 remains to be seen.

Darn it, I was hoping Chelsea would think of this first!

I’d love to see this happen! he is 31 and has atleast two years left in him, he scores and makes goals and most importantly he is what we need to have in the squad, a bit of experince with the “follow me” attitude! if he wants £120k per week for two years get it done!! any more i’d say it’s a risk?
