According to reports from The Express yesterday evening, Chelsea star Eden Hazard could decide the fate of Gareth Bale’s rumoured £80million move to Manchester United.
The Red Devils haven’t given up in their pursuit of the Welsh wizard, who boasts 39 goals in 87 appearances for Los Blancos, despite the Bernabeu outfit publicly insisting he won’t be sold this summer on countless occasions.
However, Hazard’s incredible end to Chelsea’s 2014/15 Premier League campaign, racking up four goals, three assists and four Man of the Match awards in his last eight league appearances, has got them thinking twice.
According to The Express, Real Madrid are now willing to let Bale leave for Old Trafford this summer for an£80million fee, in order to fund their own move for the Belgium international.
The 24 year-old Blues star is expected to pick up a host of individual honours this month, most particularly the FWA and PFA Player of the Year awards, and there’s been a trend of such award winners ditching the Premier League for La Liga in recent seasons.
Having only penned new terms with Chelsea earlier this season, however, it’s unlikely the west Londoners are willing to sell.
