According to reports from A Spor and AMK respectively, Fenerbahce are targeting World Cup winning Manchester United duo Juan Mata and Bastian Schweinsteiger ahead of the summer transfer window.
The Spain international’s future at Old Trafford has been open to speculation for some time, in no small part due to his contract verging upon its final two years and the expected managerial appointment of Jose Mourinho – who infamously sold him to Manchester United during the 2014 January transfer window whilst in charge of Chelsea.

Fenerbahce were linked with a shock transfer swoop for the 27-year-old last week, whilst Atletico Madrid have been linked with a summer bid for the former Valencia star and a lucrative transfer to the Chinese Super League has also been speculated.
But according to AMK, Mata isn’t the only United star in the Turkish outfit’s transfer crosshairs. They’re reportedly targeting fellow World Cup winner Bastian Schweinsteiger as well, who has managed just 13 Premier League starts since sealing a £6.5million transfer from Bayern Munich last summer.
Thwarted with injury problems and already 31 years of age, the Red Devils could be tempted to part with the German international during the coming transfer window – although AMK fail to mention a potential fee for the powerful midfielder.
