Renato Sanches

According to The Telegraph, Benfica are reluctant to part with Manchester United transfer target Renato Sanches; whilst talkSPORT claim Arsenal are scouting Red Bull Salzburg starlet Naby Keita.

The box-to-box midfielder is widely viewed as Portugal’s most exciting prospect since Cristiano Ronaldo and was first linked with a move to Manchester United during the January transfer window – in fact, agent Jorge Mendes claim the Red Devils saw a £31million transfer bid rejected.

The Premier League outfit are expected to revive their interest in the summer but according to The Telegraph, Benfica are desperate to hold onto the 18-year-old for at least another season. Only a summer transfer bid worth £47million, £30million of which will have to be paid up front, will convince them otherwise.

Along with the Red Devils, Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid are believed to be targeting the two-cap Portugal international, who some have compared to Brazilian great Ronaldinho.

Meanwhile, talkSPORT – citing Austrian outlet SportNet – claim Arsenal are scouting Red Bull Salzburg starlet Naby Keita, an exciting central midfielder who has reached double figures in the scoring charts this season.

Gunners scouts ran the rule over the 21-year-old before the international break, during a recent win over Mattersburg, and are expected to continue monitoring his progress until the end of the season – when they could launch an official transfer bid.

Arsene Wenger is expected to overhaul his midfield options during the summer transfer window, with Bosman-bound veterans Mikel Arteta, Mathieu Flamini and Tomas Rosicky set to leave the club on free transfers, and the Guinea international could be included in the Arsenal gaffer’s plans.
