Journalist Christian Falk says Bayern Munich were ‘impressed’ with Harry Kane’s display against Arsenal, and could still sign the Tottenham Hotspur striker.
As per SofaScore, Kane was Tottenham’s highest-rated player in their 2-0 loss at home to their North London rivals, and recorded the second-most duels (seven) won of all his team-mates behind Matt Doherty, while also recording the most shots on target (three), the most dribbles completed (two) and the most key passes (four).
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Falk says that the Bundesliga giants are ‘still keeping an eye’ on Kane, and were ‘impressed’ with his performance against Arsenal despite Tottenham’s defeat:
“Bayern Munich are still keeping an eye on him. I heard they were impressed with his performance yesterday. Although he lost, they saw that he is always able to score.
“Even if his team are playing badly, he is always the man who can change it. They are impressed with how he plays in the box. How fast he is, his aerial ability. They say he’s a complete player and if there’s a chance to get him, they will try.”
TIF thoughts on Kane to Bayern…
Given that Kane has still not won a trophy at Spurs at the age of 29, the striker may be thinking about leaving for another club that will give him a better chance of winning silverware.
Their Bundesliga title last season was their 32nd in total, while they have also won three UEFA Champions Leagues as well as many other accolades.
Kane is no doubt still such an important player for the Lilywhites, being by far their top scorer in all competitions so far this term with 17, and losing him would be a huge blow.
However, if Antonio Conte’s side fail to qualify for the Champions League for next campaign, then they may struggle to keep him.
