Leeds United are seemingly eyeing a move for AS Monaco teenager Lisandru Olmeta.

The Whites have been busy so far this month, with moves to bolster Jesse Marsch’s first-team squad in Max Wober and Georginio Rutter.

However, it looks as if Victor Orta has his eyes on adding to the club’s youth ranks, especially when it comes to a goalkeeper. Reports have suggested that Leeds are keen on Club Brugge’s Senne Lammens, and another young ‘keeper in Olmeta has emerged on their radar.

Foot Mercato shared an update regarding Olmeta on Thursday evening, claiming clubs across Europe are ‘knocking on the door’ ahead of a potential cut-price move.

Leeds are named as one of the sides in the Premier League who are eyeing the 17-year-old alongside Chelsea, Manchester City, Manchester United and West Ham, with Monaco also offering Olmeta a professional deal.

TIF thoughts on Olmeta…

Olmeta appears to be a star in the making, with plenty of top sides monitoring his situation. He has a family history of playing at the top level too, with father Pascal Olmeta a former Marseille goalkeeper, winning the Champions League back in 1993.

You’d expect that if Leeds won the race for his services, he would go into the club’s academy sides in Thorp Arch, potentially the U18s to start with, looking to rival Kristoffer Klaesson in the U21s.

His future could be one to watch over the coming weeks, especially with the offer on the table from Monaco, and it’ll be interesting to see if the Whites look to make their move ahead of the summer.
