Journalist Ryan Taylor believes that Leeds United could look at bolstering their midfield ranks this month.
The Whites have been busy so far this month, securing the services of Max Wober from RB Salzburg.
It looks as if a move for Hoffenheim forward Georginio Rutter is also nearing competition, in what could be a club record fee at Elland Road.
A total package for the French striker could be worth close to €40m, and Taylor has teased another arrival in Yorkshire during the current window.
Talking to GiveMeSport, Taylor said that reported target Azzedine Ounahi doesn’t appear keen on a move to Yorkshire following Leeds’ ‘good’ offer.
He said that the money appears to be available for a further signing this month, hinting that midfield could be an area of interest.
“It seems like with Ounahi, he doesn’t really seem overly interested in a move to Leeds following their offer.
“But they’ve put good money on the table, so there’s always a chance, but it does also indicate that one, the money is there, and two, that midfield is also another area they could look at this month.”
TIF thoughts on a new midfielder…
The Whites parted ways with Mateusz Klich earlier this month, so a new versatile midfielder could be beneficial for Jesse Marsch. In regards to defensive and central midfielders, Leeds now have just Marc Roca, Tyler Adams and Adam Forshaw as senior options.
Forshaw has had his injury problems in recent years and is out of contract in the summer, so it could be a wise move to bolster their options over the coming weeks.
