Everton find themselves set to see yet another new manager take charge of the club after Frank Lampard ended up being forced out of his role at Goodison Park.

It has since been reported that Sean Dyche has been appointed as the new Toffees head coach.

Despite Everton having some issues regarding financial fair play, if Dyche were to look to the transfer market in an effort to improve the team, one player that the club have been linked with that we feel would do the job is Viktor Gyokeres.

After joining Brighton & Hove Albion in the 2018 summer transfer window, the striker made a move to Coventry City on an initial loan deal in the 2021 January window before becoming a permanent fixture at the Championship club in the following summer.

Do you remember who Alex Iwobi was signed from?

During his time with Coventry, the 24-year-old, who has been lauded for his “outstanding” performances in the past by journalist Richard Sutcliffe, has made 95 appearances across all competitions, scoring 34 goals and delivering nine assists in the process.

This season has seen the Swedish international score 12 goals in 28 Championship appearances, racking up more shots at goal (74) and more shots on target (32) than any of his teammates.

Would Viktor Gyokeres be a good signing for Everton?

Clearly a threat in front of goal, this is the exact sort of player that Everton could do with in their ranks given how only Bournemouth (167) have had registered fewer attempts at goal in the Premier League this season than the Toffees (197).

Also, with current Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin having a significant injury record to his name, as well as Neal Maupay only being able to score one goal in 13 league appearances, this further highlights the need for the Merseyside club to freshen up this area of the squad.

Moving forward, if an opportunity arises for Everton to land a deal for the Coventry star, they should do all they can to secure his signature and hope he can be just as prolific in front of goal for them as he has been for his current side.
