Journalist, Dean Jones has told to GiveMeSport, that a number of players from the Netherlands’ national team, ‘will be available in the coming months’, including Manchester United target, Jeremie Frimpong.

The Bayer Leverkusen man was called up to the Netherlands’ World Cup squad, but didn’t make a single appearance at the tournament.

Chelsea have also been linked with Frimpong in recent times, Simon Phillips told GiveMeSport that he’s one of their ‘targets’.

In the Bundesliga, the 22-year-old has 15 appearances for Bayer Leverkusen, making 14 starts for the German side. He joined the German side in the summer of 2021, leaving Scottish Premiership side, Celtic.

Jones said: ‘The other players to look out for in this team that will be available in the coming months are Stefan De Vrij (Tottenham interest), Noa Lang (Leeds and West Ham interest) and Jeremie Frimpong (Man United interest).’

TIF’s view on Jones’ comments…

Interestingly, the Dutchman would appear to be one of the shortest player at Old Trafford should he join, with him standing at 1.71m.

We believe that Frimpong is an exciting talent, he’s having a great Bundesliga campaign with Leverkusen.

The Dutchman, who has been hailed as ‘unplayable’, has five goals and one assist to his name in the league. He typically operates as a right-back, but he’s also played as a right-midfielder and left-back in the past.

When you compare the 22-year-old to other full-backs across the top five leagues in Europe, Champions League and Europa League in the last year, Frimpong is one of the biggest attacking threats in the continent. He’s in the top 3% for non-penalty goals scored, the top 11% for assists and the top 1% for dribbles completed (FBref).

Frimpong could provide competition for the Red Devils in the right-back position. Diogo Dalot has been their go-to option with 13 league appearances so far this season.

Their other right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka doesn’t seem to be in the plans of Erik ten-Hag. Transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, stated on the United Stand, that the club will look to sell the player before finding a new replacement.
