Journalist Rob Blanchette has blasted Nasser Al-khelaifi following his comments on Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford.

The PSG president was speaking to Sky Sports this week and when asked about signing Rashford this summer when his contract expires he said ‘why not?’

The forward is out of contract at the end of the season but United do have the option to extend that deal by another 12 months.

Al-Khelaifi has confirmed that the Parisians have previously looked at bringing in the 25-year-old and said that lots of clubs would be after the ‘amazing’ frontman should he become a free agent.

Following his comments Blanchette was left outraged and said on Twitter: ‘Completely out of order PSG president Nasser Al-khelaifi is namedropping Marcus Rashford as a potential signing. He won’t be a free agent for 18 months, so this is really poor from PSG. #MUFC will sort his new deal soon. I’m sure Rashford wants to stay at the club he loves.’

TIF Thoughts on Rashford and United…

The £47m forward endured a difficult campaign last year scoring just five goals across all competitions in 32 appearances but he has looked rejuvenated this term.

Will Marcus Rashford sign a new deal at Manchester United?

Yes

Yes

No

No

He has been directly involved in 11 goals in 19 matches and having been recalled to the England side for the World Cup he has also flourished on the big stage scoring three goals on the way to the quarter-finals.

The Mail previously reported that the Reds were eager to tie down their 50-cap gem to a new deal before the turn of the year and while he could be tempted by a club like PSG we feel Rashford will likely commit to fresh terms at Old Trafford having rediscovered his form under Erik ten Hag.
