YouTube presenter Ger Lynch has described the Leeds United U21s’ dressing room gesture as a ‘class act’.

The side were praised by their opponents following a winter friendly out in Spain after they preceded to clean their own changing room following the game.

Spanish fifth division side Orihuela CF took to Twitter to recognise the kindness of the Young Whites and thanked the players for their ‘generosity and respect’ for the club and their facilities.

Some of the team were also pictured sweeping the floors in the post and while speaking on The View, Lynch also raved over the gesture.

He said: (1:45) ‘The interesting story here is that Leeds were complimented on their civility by the fifth tier Spanish club after they were seen cleaning the dressing room after them and tidying everything up.

“It was just a class act, it’s nice to see that. The Japanese team get a huge amount of credit for that and I’ve always been a fan of leaving dressing rooms as you find them so nice touch by the lads, class act and well done to them for doing that.”

TIF Thoughts on Lynch’s comments…

Do you expect Leeds to spend in January?

Yes

It certainly was a pleasant surprise to see the youngsters show such humility after their 8-0 victory.

They clearly have good heads on their shoulders and Jesse Marsch will be hoping that some of them come into his thinking in the not-too-distant future.

It sets the standard for the first team who are also in action out in Spain this week.

The manager will be looking for his players to show off other qualities, on the field, as he aims to have his side in the best shape possible for when the Premier League season resumes.

Leeds are sitting precariously above the drop zone and have the champions Manchester City to deal with in their first game back.
