Editor of TEAMtalk and Leeds United fan James Marshment has suggested Adama Traore would be an unpopular signing.

Traore has been a household name during his time at Wolverhampton Wanderers due to his incredible pace and power able to change games.

However, he’s struggled at Molineux in previous years and only featured in 619 minutes of Premier League action this season, he’s now been linked by Fabrizio Romano with a move to Leeds which he believes would be a good one for both parties.

“At the moment there’s nothing advanced with other clubs, but Adama Traore could be a name to watch on the market because there’s not been much progress over talks for a new contract with Wolves.

“I personally think Leeds would be a very good move for him for their style of football,” Romano told Caught Offside.

This led to Marshment claiming a move would be unpopular amongst Whites fans, tweeting:

“Unlikely to be a popular one this. Traore has two goals from 14 appearances this season and is yet to register an assist. Clearly gone stale though at Wolves and appears to be heading for the exit door.”

TIF Thoughts on Marshment’s comments…

Traore is a player who seriously lacks a final product, in his 184 career league games he’s managed only nine goals and 18 assists, with his most profitable season coming in the 2019/20 campaign where he managed four goals and nine assists in 37 games for Wolves, far from clinical.

Even a loan spell last season at his former club Barcelona couldn’t reignite his spark as he failed to score in 17 games back in Catalonia, despite finishing second in La Liga.

With his £46k-per-week deal up at the end of the season, he looks certain to leave in an attempt to kickstart his career elsewhere, but with Crysencio Summerville’s form and a potential striker signing maybe forcing Rodrigo out-wide, a move doesn’t seem to make sense for the Whites, even if at a cut-price.

Another Dan James, definitely what we don’t need or want, we NEED a good goalscorer or try the kids and we need a whole new defensive line. Marcsh might be ok if he learns quickly how to play in the premiership
