Tottenham Hotspur owners could potentially look at how the current climate in the Premier League could affect their ability to sell the club.

This has been suggested by the reliable Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold who has been speaking on his YouTube channel amid the news of other Premier League giants being up for sale.

In recent weeks, it has been revealed Liverpool and Manchester United have been put up for sale by their owners following the pressure put on them by the clubs’ fans.

The Spurs owners have insisted for a number of years now that the club is not up for sale, however, a recent report from The Athletic described the club as being more likely to be sold ‘than they have ever been’.

Starting with the club's £60m summer signing, which of these players could Richarlison be facing?

But Gold has suggested it would be interesting to see whether any failed moves for the two English giants could see ENIC consider their options with big-money buyers out to snap up Premier League clubs:

(20:00) “And I do wonder how that affects the market for Spurs. Does it drive the price up that Spurs can ask for? Is there a scenario where some people that are unsuccessful going for, you know, the likes of Liverpool and United who obviously on a global scale have bigger right now, do they, if they can’t get them, maybe turn their attention to Spurs and put in a big bid for them?

“It’d be interesting to see the kind of fall out. You know, I don’t think from everything they keep saying the intention is to sell Spurs right now, but if you get a big bid… What was it someone told me? I think I said this about three-four months ago, that this period of the next year is essentially when Spurs will be – sounds awful – like the plumpest bird [value-wise].”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

This is certainly an interesting point brought up by Gold given there are clearly some potential buyers in the market for United and Liverpool with serious money at hand.

Would you welcome a sale to Saudi investors?

No

And with Champions League football, Antonio Conte in charge, and a strong start to the campaign under their belt, it does feel like as good of an opportunity as ever for ENIC to cash in on the north London side.

Saudi Arabian investors have been linked to potentially making a move for United and Liverpool which has already caused controversy in the league through the sale of Newcastle United.

So we would be interested to see how Spurs fans may react if it was to receive interest from the likes of the middle east who have shaken up the Premier League so considerably.
