Tottenham Hotspur’s Rodrigo Bentancur has labelled his teammate, Son Heung-min as ‘lethal’ when speaking to the club website.

The duo were on opposite sides of the pitch as Bentancur’s Uruguay took on Son’s South Korea on Thursday afternoon. It ended in a goalless draw with both sides sharing the points.

As far as this season has been for both players its been quite different.

Bentancur has been one of Spurs’ standout players this season. He has a Sofascore of a 7.3 rating, which is the second highest of any Tottenham player.

Son is third, but that doesn’t tell the full story. He only has three goals to his name this season, which disappointing by his high standards.

Here’s what the midfielder had to say about his teammate Son: “I’ve already played against Son in a couple of friendlies and I know how hard he can make life for our defenders.

“He’s great in one-v-one situations, he can shoot with both feet and he’s a lethal striker in front of goal.”

TIF’s view on Bentancur’s comments…

We believe that there’s no doubt that Son is a top, top player. When you look at his goal tally in the Premier League, it’s incredible.

This season hasn’t been the best for the South Korean. Having said that, he has time to turn that around in the second half of the season.

Spurs do sit in the top four currently, but considering they lost three of their last five, they’ll be disappointed. A couple of wins and they’d be even closer to the Premier League title mix.

If both Son and Bentancur can both start playing at the top of their games for Spurs at the same time, it could be a game-changer.

When you take into consideration they’re only eight points off top spot, a great run of form could see them back in consideration for a title challenge.
