Journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Manchester United could be sold ‘soon’ after the club was recently put up for sale.
Despite the fact that Premier League football has been put on pause while the 2022 Qatar World Cup takes place, the Red Devils have had a pretty hectic last few days.
Indeed, after an explosive interview, it was decided that Cristiano Ronaldo would no longer be a part of the team and has consequently left by mutual agreement.
On top of that, it has now been confirmed that the Manchester United board are ‘commencing a process to explore strategic alternatives’ for the club and will officially consider a sale.
While speaking about that particular development on his YouTube channel, Romano explained that it isn’t just a statement to say something may happen in the future, but rather, it confirms that something is ‘already in the air’.
He said (1:19): “Now we enter into a new era with Manchester United that could be sold soon. I say soon because sources close to the club guarantee that the process is already ongoing, that there are already some groups interested in buying Manchester United. There have been some approaches.
“And so things are moving around Manchester United. It is not just a statement to announce a something will happen but it’s also a statement that confirms that something is already in the air around Manchester United.”

TIF thoughts on Manchester United…
Amid all this talk, the Manchester United Supporters Trust have urged the Glazer family to sell quickly instead of seeking out the highest bid, as to allow the club to be bought by a suitable party.
Back in August, billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe stated that he had an interest in buying the Premier League club and so it remains to be seen if he will put in an offer in the near future.
However, judging from Romano’s comments, it seems as though more could become clear in the near future. And so it might not take long before we know who exactly intends to buy Manchester United and whether or not the Glazer’s reign is indeed set to end.
Interesting times, to say the least, for the club’s fanbase.
