Liverpool star Trent Alexander-Arnold appears to have sent a message to England manager Gareth Southgate by posting a video of his shooting skills on Twitter.Â
Up to this stage in the 2022 World Cup, the right-back has yet to play for the Three Lions. Indeed, he has had to watch on from the bench while England beat Iran and then drew with the United States.
Despite being a regular in the Liverpool side in recent years, Alexander-Arnold has never truly been trusted to play a key role for his national side – sparking plenty of debate in the media.
And while it remains unclear if he will play at all at the tournament, the player has taken it upon himself to send a potential message to Southgate with a social media post.
Indeed, in a video shared on Twitter, Alexander-Arnold showed his superb technique as he fired the ball into the back of the net from the edge of the box on numerous occasions.
He added the simple caption: “Shooting practice.”

Still only 24 years of age, the defender has already won the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, League Cup and Club World Cup. And with a record like that, most would expect him to be a regular for his nation.
Evidently, though, Southgate remains unconvinced, and Kieran Trippier has been the preferred option so far. However, the Newcastle United right-back was labelled ‘poor’ against the USA in the last game, so a change could be on the cards.
It seems as though Alexander-Arnold is certainly keen to remind everyone, including his manager, of his supreme technical ability with this post.
However, it remains to be seen if Southgate will pay it any mind.
