Journalist Josh Bunting was blown away by the ‘stunning’ display of reported Liverpool transfer target Jamal Musiala.
Back in October, reporter Florian Plettenberg stated that the Reds were interested in the 19-year-old star, who plays for Bayern Munich.
The attacking midfielder starred for Germany in their second World Cup game against Spain. The points were shared as the game finished 1-1 between the European giants.
In the last three seasons, Musiala has been getting more opportunities with Bayern. He’s made 14 appearances so far this season and played 30 times last term.
Writing on his Twitter account, Bunting was left raving over the German international’s performance after he went close for Die Mannschaft.
He said: “That is stunning from Musiala. The cross is perfect for Niclas Füllkrug and then Musiala is denied himself by a good save from Simon. Had to go for goal; it’s a difficult angle as Simon closed it down quickly. He’s been Germany’s best player tonight. The youngster glorious to watch.”

We believe that Musiala certainly looks like a talent for the future, so it’s no wonder the likes of Liverpool are interested.
This season, the 19-year-old has 16 goal contributions from just 14 games in the Bundesliga. He’s clearly been a huge factor for Bayern this year, with the Bavarians currently top of the league.
He’s a player who is very comfortable with the ball at his feet, as Musiala ranks in the 90th percentile for dribbles completed in comparison to other attackers and wingers over the past year (FBref).
Furthermore, when you look at Liverpool’s squad, a number of their midfielders and other attacking players are on the older side. So they may turn to someone like Musiala to rejuvenate the team.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are currently sixth in the league and 15 points off league leaders Arsenal, so we wouldn’t be surprised to see the Reds look to the January market to help them kick on in the second half of the season as they look to achieve Champions League football.
However, given there appears to be no desire as yet for the German to leave the Allianz Arena, how they go about doing that remains to be seen.
