Fabrizio Romano has stated that ‘the price tag will be decided’ by Borussia Dortmund after the World Cup for Liverpool target, Jude Bellingham.

Journalist Florian Plettenberg has said that manager, Jurgen Klopp is pushing to get the midfielder signed.

Bellingham is currently at the World Cup with England. He shone and scored the first goal of their opening match against Iran in a 6-2 victory for the Three Lions.

Across both his World Cup performances, the 19-year-old has demonstrated his immense passing ability. He has a 95% pass accuracy and 88% of his long balls have been accurate (Sofascore).

Romano stated that Bellingham is Liverpool’s top target, but Real Madrid are also interested. Here’s what he had to say on his YouTube channel: “The price tag will be decided after the World Cup. The negotiations will take place in 2023.

“Of course, many clubs already had direct conversations with people close to Jude Bellingham, but not yet, with Borussia Dortmund.

“These clubs are for sure Liverpool because as I mentioned here many times Liverpool make Jude Bellingham their top target of their summer window for 2023. So they want Bellingham at all costs and Liverpool will be in the race for Jude Bellingham. Real Madrid are also interested.”

TIF’s view on Romano’s comments…

We believe that Liverpool would be signing a top talent in Jude Bellingham. When you look at their squad, a number of their midfielders are on the older side. So, bringing in the young 19-year-old midfielder could boost their options.

We’ve mentioned his impressive passing stats, but Bellingham is no one trick pony. He’s in the top 96 percentile (FBref) for dribbles completed, suggesting he’s very capable with the ball at his feet.

Additionally, he’s a player who loves to attack and is a threat in the box. Bellingham is in the top 96 percentile for touches in the attacking penalty area (FBref).

So it’s no wonder Klopp is so desperate to get the Dortmund star into his Liverpool side. Bellingham has so many years left and his stats show that should he make the move to Merseyside, he’d be a real asset.
