Injury specialist Ben Dinnery has admitted that the latest talk surrounding Tottenham’s Dejan Kulusevski is worrying for the club.

The Swede was originally struck by a hamstring injury while on international duty which ruled him out of the subsequent north London derby back on October 1st.

Now having been seemingly close to a return it appears that the 22-year-old could be out until the mid-season break.

Speaking at his press conference on Friday Spurs boss Antonio Conte said he was “worried” because “his recovery was going well and the one day the situation worsened” (BBC Sport).

Dinnery has now voiced his concern for the winger.

Speaking on the Premier FPL Injuries YouTube channel he said:

(32:29)”Kulusevski was very close to returning. This is dragging on from the international break, that hamstring issue that was initially reported as being very minor however as he was on the cusp of his inclusion in that first-team squad suffered a setback.

“Antonio Conte has been very optimistic I would say in terms of when the player would return except for today. I think he’s held his hands up, he admits that we’re not really expecting him to be in the matchday squad anytime soon so that is a little bit of a worry.

” You hope that he will return before the World Cup but like I say it’s not great particularly when a player does suffer a setback.”

TIF Thoughts on Kulusevski and Tottenham…

Has Kulusevski been a big miss?

The 27-cap Sweden international has proved to be a tremendous acquisition for Spurs since arriving on loan in January.

He has averaged a direct goal involvement every 114 minutes at N17 with six goals and 11 assists for the Lilywhites.

His absence will be felt especially with Richarlison also out for a couple of weeks.

Conte has Bryan Gil and Lucas Moura to call upon but given that they have managed just 41 minutes between them so far this season it isn’t an ideal situation for the Italian coach with a couple of crunch fixtures against Newcastle and Liverpool coming up.

When an injury happens on international duty, clubs should make it an unwritten law you don’t get to play for your country again until at least fit and playing for 4 matches!!!!
If ALL clubs follow those guidelines it might cut down on players causing other players injuries during premiere league breaks!
